Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 device show impressive scores
The first Geekbench results for a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 device show impressive scores: 8,840 in multi-core and 2,884 in single-core tests.
This marks a nearly 30% and 35% improvement, respectively, over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which scored 6,810 and 2,125 using the Xiaomi 14 as a reference.
The performance gains could be even higher, as early benchmarks often use pre-production samples.
Qualcomm's in-house Nuvia CPU architecture features a 2+6 core layout, with the main cluster clocked at 4.09 GHz and the efficient cluster at 2.78 GHz.
The GPU is Adreno 830, and the chip is built on TSMC's 3nm process.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is set to launch in October 2024, and reports indicate that the Xiaomi 15 series will be the first to feature Qualcomm's flagship SoC in 2025. It is expected to deliver outstanding GPU performance.
